Werder Bremen vs Hamburger SV

Category: Germany Bundesliga

Venue: Weser Stadium

Kick Off: 19-04 at 15:30 CET

Following a run of four Bundelsiga matches without a win, Werder Bremen will be keen to bounce back at home this afternoon when they take on bottom club Hamburg. Werder Bremen have recently lost to Bayern Munich and Stuttgart, along with draws against Cologne and Mainz.

At home, defeats to Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg ended a run of four straight home wins which they’d gained over Borussia Dortmund, Hertha Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg, so all is not lost for Bremen who have shown they can beat some of the top sides at home.

Werder Bremen’s overall home record stands at 6-4-4 23/22 and they’ve lost just once at home against bottom third teams in the Bundesliga out of five matches against such opposition, which was a narrow 1-0 defeat to Cologne but that was way back in October of last year.

Onto Hamburg now, and the bottom club have suffered four straight defeats going into this afternoon’s encounter following losses to Hoffenheim, Hertha Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg.

In fact it’s eight matches now without a win in the German top flight and amongst the recent results was a demoralising 8-0 defeat at Bayern Munich which will, no doubt, have been their lowest point of this season by some margin.

Away from home, Hamburg have also lost their last four matches on the trot having scored just 1 goal but conceding 17 in reply, and thereby confirming why they currently find themselves bottom of the heap right now.

With Werder Bremen occupying a more mid-table position, I’m going to pull back on the reigns slightly and give the quarter ball on the hosts who could take this perhaps 2-0, but I’d like the draw on my side as far as possible here.

Bet: Werder Bremen @ 2,00
