This is rescheduled match from 07.02.2014 and let see what we can expect tonight on Rodney Parade Stadium in Newport
Newport drew 2:2 last weekend against Scunthorpe at home, in a game where they looked very competitive against second at the table team. It was their third consecutive game without victory, as the side shows fatigue with constant racing obligations as they have been beaten three times in last five matches, although they have played four times at home.
Fleetwood Town remains at the play-off position, however is showing a pretty poor performances in last seven league matches, having won just one and that was at home against Northampton which is located in the relegation zone. They had quite a big problems in the offensive zone, as they didn’t score in last three games.
They are coming from a goalless draw at home against Wimbledon last weekend, in a game where they had several good phases and left better impression in the first halftime. However, in repetition, Wimbledon staged performance and became more threatening, but as the time went both teams looked like very satisfied with a draw. Coach Graham Alexander was satisfied after the game, saying that the team showed improvement after a home crash against Plymouth last Tuesday. Visitors once again will have many problems in front of tonight’s game, as they will probably miss central midfielder Schumacher (25/4) who is highly questionable after being injured last week, while top scorer Ball (22/6) remains sidelined with injury, same as key midfielder Hughes (26/3).
Both teams are coming from three consecutive matches without a victory.
Atmosphere in Newport is a bit more optimistic and the home side remains small favorite in front of this game. On the other side, Fleetwood has problems with absences, but also can’t wait for much during the game. Open game is expected as both teams are in a must win situation, but have quite a big problems at the defensive lineup.
Tip: Over 2.5
Odds: 2.15
